workday ditto

This will be "recurring" post. Might as well set it to auto-post every Monday and Tuesday. Get up early. Wonder if Adam (my erstwhile car pool buddy) will actually show up at all and if so, how close to 6:15 AM will he actually make it. The over under on this action would have to be 6:30 AM. This morning he did not make it.. Anyhow, work is work. Too many questions to field, too little thought put into the answers. This is all under my control to change yet despite effort into enacting the change, not much improvement. That is the subject for another day. Fast forward to 6:00 PM where I call and tell Luciana I will be home around 8:00 PM and field the usual "why?" and "is anyone else working late?" questions. The good news is, she would like to see me. The bad news is, feeling wanted spurs on feelings of guilt and frustration that make my personality a little less peachy. Anyhow, I probably won't see the boys tonight before bed time and will not see them before I leave tomorrow. Not much of a family night. :(

Sunday morning - normal activity intact

Sunday morning intact -- boys woke up about 7 AM. Luciana and I looked at each other, our eyes met in an old-school western stand-off and I blinked first. Of course, this was just ritual -- Luciana always takes the Saturday AM shift and I take the Sunday shift -- well, sometimes I do. So, the boys and I stumbled slowly downstairs -- Luca scratching his privates ferociously -- and settled into our positions and turned on our Sunday morning personalities.

I popped good ole 'KP' (Kim Possible) onto the tube and the boys burrowed into either side of the couch and proceeded to intermittently complain that one or the other was taking too much blanket or their feet were touching. For my part, I played the "I'm too tired to deal" thought through my head before barking out some "cut that out or suffer some consequence." As usual, that just turns their attention toward me and forces me out of my semi-catatonic state and into full consciousness. Once there, you might as well be helpful so after playing Dad the Arbiter of Justice, we re-spread the blanket, reaffirmed our total committment to getting along with each other and that a little skin-on-skin contact on the couch was OK and re-settled in for watching Kim and Ron battle Malcolm in Everlot. Quite honestly, a good KP episode. So good, in fact, it was worth watching twice, back-to-back in Luca's opinion.
